Originally a venue to display butterfly and bird houses, Butterfly Garden Cafe quickly captured the hearts and stomachs of Louisville lunch-goers in the fall of 2000. In January 2004, Emily Williams purchased the cafe on the alley and carried on the rich tradition of the cafe's homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, and desserts.
Williams moved the cafe next door to 1327 Bardstown Rd., a more visible location, in August 2005. Now open six days a week, the cafe continues to serve simple but delicious lunches and even offers on- and off-site catering.
